The first month of the year is barely over, and discussions about several critical community issues are already in full swing! From the upcoming 2015 Prescott General Plan revision, to community preparedness for climate impacts, to the future of water management there is a common theme:our leadership needs public input to guide them in finding the best solutions for our Prescott and greater Quad Cities area!
Perhaps the most pressing and important issue currently under review by the Prescott City Council is the drafting of the city's 2022 Water Management Policy and proposed return to an annual water budget.As you may recall, in 2019 a significant number of changes were made to the water management policy-- including a proposal to allow the City of Prescott to supply water to un-annexed areas outside of city limits. This provision received significant, repeated backlash from the public and water experts. It is vital that Prescott's citizens continue to monitor changes made to the city's water policy to ensure that it reflects the ethos and practices necessary to achieve the water future that we need and deserve.
Please consider submitting a public comment at the upcoming Prescott City Council Water Issues Subcommittee this Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.

Mayor Pro Tem Cathey Rusing (the WIS Sub committee Chair) requested the addition of Agenda Item 4(E), "Discussion Regarding Water Outside City Limits and Water Service Area Boundary" as it relates to the Proposed 2022 Draft Water Policy.
The provision of water outside city limits is an important, complicated and challenging issue that will take careful analysis and discussion among our elected officials, experts such as the Citizens Water Advocacy Group (CWAG) and the citizens of Prescott.
