We hope your year has started off well. We want to thank everyone for their participation with the Shurling Library in the Annual Winter Reading Challenge on Beanstack. Collectively, we read over 600 books!

Join us all month long as we celebrate Black History Month and Library Lovers Month. Browse our Herbert Tuggle Collection, Washington Memorial Library's African American Collection named for MGRL's first African American Head of Reference, and find your next fiction and non-fiction reads.

Show some library love this month and participate in Take Your Child to the Library Day (Feb. 8). Washington Memorial Library, Mary Vinson Memorial Library, and Lake Sinclair Library will be open.

While Feb. 14 is most commonly known as Valentine's Day, it is also National Library Lovers Day, celebrated annually to honor libraries, librarians, and the love of books. Be our valentine and show us some library love by sending a "love letter" to holseya@bibblib.org telling us what you love about MGRL for a chance to win some MGRL swag!

May your February be warm and fuzzy and your "to-read" list ever-growing.

Read on!

Upcoming Classes:

Middle Georgia Regional Library is proud to be recognized as a leader in literacy. Literacy in 21st century Macon reflects our community’s ability to make sense of and shape the world. In addition to our work with print-word literacy, we enhance technological literacy through classes and free public access to computers. Our Business and Nonprofit Center is building financial literacy to empower entrepreneurs and nonprofit leaders. We also encourage life skills literacy. Whether we are teaching resume workshops or crochet classes, we are giving members of our community the tools to live informed, engaged lives.

The Macon-Bibb Libraries Endowment Fund at the Community Foundation of Central Georgia was created to endow the future of the Macon-Bibb County libraries and will help us continue our mission to connect all people to the information necessary to improve their lives through excellent services and materials.
