This is Farming Hope's first ever Gratitude Report. In our 5 years of growth, we have always had much be proud of, but this marks a new chapter. Our team has grown into an organization that fulfills our vision everyday, building a community where all are needed. This report is a reflection of our inspiration, our joy, and our collective desire to rebuild and restore the spirit of community in San Francisco.
Inside the 2021 Gratitude Report:
2021 was a year that truly reflected our name - we farmed so much hope! Amidst pandemic fatigue and the emotional roller coaster of uncertainty, we kept our programming strong. Thanks to our support network, including you, we stepped up to the challenge of our day, opening our doors to more people than ever.
When Apprentices walk into the kitchen to start their day, when families come into Refettorio San Francisco to pick up meals and to choose their groceries, or when someone orders a beautiful meal from Manny’s, we want each person to know that they are valued. Many organizations focus on addressing basic needs, leaving a gap in the path toward self sufficiency. We fill this gap through paid job training and transitional employment, delicious meals and healthy groceries for food insecure community members, and waste reduction through food recovery. Growing, cooking, and serving food to others is proof that all are needed.
We want to empower our Apprentices, staff, volunteers, meal guests, and supporters to lead, give back, feel seen, and be heard. We want all to know they are needed by their neighbors, colleagues, and community. We invite you to our table to make this life-changing work possible.
We need you to help us continue Farming Hope.
