New Markets and More Growth and Development!

Hi <<First Name>>,

Last month, we talked about how we rang in the new year with another project - this time framing out a wall in the basement of the cabin.  We also wrote about the shelving in the barn, maintenance, repairs and other projects taking place here at the farm and homestead.  Keep reading and find out what's going on!

What's new at York Meadow Farm?

Like we mentioned, we wanted to get the tractor serviced - but the trailer was full of trash and junk.  Right before the big snow, Dad was able to take the trailer, sell some of the scrap and junk the rest - coming back from the whole day with a few dollars in hand...which greatly pleased The Kraut Guy.

However, he wasn't done quite yet - before the big snows, he wanted to make sure the tractor was able to get serviced this winter season.  That same day, he was able to get our little tractor and the tiller down to our new friends at Wellington Implement in Medina - their new location is really convenient!

Later in the month, Rob had his first soap making lesson with Mom - where he learned the basics of soap making and record keeping.  The lesson also included a guided session where Rob made his very first cold process soap!

With no experience making bath and body products of any kind, Rob realized he has a *lot* to learn...and subsequently, Mom decided to write an article on soap making and the differences between hot and cold process soaps.
In addition to his first soap lesson, Rob received his first lesson with The Kraut guy - and learning the finer details of making ferments on a large scale.

Speaking of The Kraut Guy...we are pleased to announce that we have been invited to attend the indoor market at Richardson Farms, in Medina.
It's exciting to participate in yet another opportunity to provide food and work with local farmers in the off-season.  We are very grateful to the Richardson Family for the opportunity to help support everyone supporting us.

Be sure to check out their Indoor Farmers Market Facebook Event page!

So...there's a little update from our little farm homestead!

While there's snow on the ground and storms in the forecast...don't forget that the days are growing longer - and spring is right around the corner!

In addition to the Indoor Farmers Market at Richardson Farms, you can also buy food locally online!  Yellow House Cheese continues to offer online ordering and four different pickup locations around Northeast Ohio – which provides the opportunity to pick up everything you’d pick up at the market, including produce grown by Cody Matthew Grey and many other of the incredible small farmers in our community, and meats such as chicken, pork, beef, lamb, and more!

At times,
Things appear,
To barely hold on
But hold on to what?
Are we the only ones to notice?
The plants don't seem to mind.
