Tracking progress: measuring, monitoring & evaluating the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing
|
|
WHO, in collaboration with UNDESA, UNFPA, UN Women, ILO, ITU, and the OECD, has established a new Technical Advisory Group (TAG) for the measurement, monitoring, and evaluation of the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing.
A multidisciplinary group of 20 experts will provide evidence-based recommendations to WHO and collaborating UN agencies to help track the Decade's progress and impact.

The WHO Baseline Report for the Decade of Healthy Ageing: summary now available in all UN languages
|
|
The summary for the WHO Baseline Report for the Decade of Healthy Ageing is now available in all UN languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Spanish, and Russian.
The WHO Baseline Report for the Decade gathers available data for measuring healthy ageing towards outlining possible pathways to impact. The report finds that least 14% of people aged 60 years and over worldwide are currently unable to meet all of their basic daily needs.

Learn more about loneliness and social isolation among older people in a new report from UNFPA Eastern Europe and Central Asia
|
|
UNFPA Eastern Europe and Central Asia, together with University College London, have published a new report on loneliness and social isolation among older people in the region.
The report joins the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing advocacy brief on social isolation and loneliness among older people published by WHO, UNDESA, ITU, and UN Women in bringing greater attention to the importance of social connections for older people's wellbeing, especially in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
