Highlights from the Live Longer Better national webinar

Did you get a chance to join last week's Live Longer Better national webinar? It was packed with amazing presentations and fascinating speakers.

The impact of Covid on older people's physical and mental health was a keynote speech based on a survey of almost 20,000 individuals.

Key findings included:

  • 24% of older people (around 3.9 million) said their health had got worse since the start of the pandemic.
  • 28% of older people (around 4.6 million) agreed they can't walk as far as they did before the pandemic.
  • 33% of older people (around 5.4 million) told us that they feel more anxious since the start of the pandemic.
  • 45% of older people (around 7.4 million) were concerned about their ability to access their GP.

You can find out more about these statistics, the effect on ethnic minorities and older carers by watching the full recording of the event here.
