Caroline Lauber | Graduate Intern

Caroline
Lauber (she/her) is one of the Graduate Interns for the Spring 2022 semester. She is a current first year graduate student in the Public History Masters Program.
Caroline’s most recent job was as the Administrative Coordinator and Admissions Counselor for the International Program at Wheaton Academy, a private Christian high school in the western suburbs. She loved interacting with the international students and working with the international team to provide a fun and fruitful high school experience for the students. Caroline is looking forward to connecting more with the Loyola graduate community. She enjoys event planning and creating spaces for students to thrive. Caroline is a huge Chicago sports fan. She was even in Wrigleyville during Game 7 of the World Series when the Cubs won! That night was so exciting and celebratory and the best night of her life thus far.

Jamel Khedira | Graduate Intern

Jamel (he/him) is currently part of the Quinlan School of Business’ MBA program. Jamel grew up in France where he graduated in Economics and lived for a couple years in Southern Spain where he studied International Finance and worked for a multinational.

Jamel decided to come to Chicago to continue his international adventure to learn about American traditions and culture. Upon his arrival here, he was able to be part of a GPASL event where he meet International and American students. It was a great place to learn about the other students’ backgrounds and it set a great start to his Chicago experience. Now, he would like to be part of GPASL to organize events, be part of the LUC community and improve the students' experience here.

While Jamel loves learning more about other cultures and (try to) learn new languages, he also enjoys watching Basketball, reading books, getting out on the Lake Shore Trail, and discovering the city!

MacKenzie Rotherham | Director

MacKenzie (she/her) joined the Graduate, Professional, & Adult team in October 2021, and she is looking forward to collaboratively supporting our student community.

MacKenzie is a proud double alumna of Loyola Chicago. She is also a current graduate student, and has professional experience working collaboratively with students in the department of Student Activities and Greek Affairs here at LUC.

Stop by MacKenzie's office in the Terry Student Center (Room 202) to say hello. There is always a warm cup of coffee or tea waiting for you.

Building a More Beloved Community

Loyola Students, Faculty, Staff, Alumni, as well as members of the Chicago community are invited to join the university for a host of familiar activities including the Interfaith Dialogue program, Service Days, and acclaimed speakers. In addition, we are thrilled to welcome back popular events including a Book Discussion and a LUC Faculty & Staff Research Symposium-- all virtual!  Learn more here.

The purpose of this presentation is to revisit the concept of justice in evaluation practice.  This presentation focuses on how justice shapes the moral end, or good, that evaluation ought to serve or promote.  Examples of evaluation approaches that will be discussed include democratic evaluation, ideological evaluation, and culturally responsive evaluation. These approaches are rooted in different notions of justice, such as justice as distribution and justice as rights.  This work has implications for both the macro positioning of evaluation in society and the micro character of evaluation practice in specific contexts and relational interactions.  Leanne Kalleymeyn, Associate Professor in the School of Education at LUC, will be presenting. Preached Silent Retreat – March 4-6, 2022

On retreat we’ll be exploring the three themes: “Who am I? Whose am I? and Who am I called to be?”

The retreat will be held out at LUREC and costs $50. Need based financial aid is available.

On silent retreats, participants gather for talks throughout the weekend and have several quiet periods throughout the day for prayer and reflection. There is also possibility for spiritual direction to talk about your prayer.
