A bunch of tales I wanted to share with you

A tale I read

A tale I heard

Actor Florence Pugh on watching the early footage of Outlaw King, set in 14th-century Scotland:

“It’s so difficult to not look at your flaws, but everybody was gross and dirty and hairy; I was over the moon to be watching something where not one person was movie-ready. As beautiful as cinema is, it’s a massive part of the problem of why we look at ourselves in the way we do. What we don’t realise when we watch a normal film is how many times someone has run in just before a shot quickly to wipe away that sweaty moustache. You never see a normal spot, a bag under the eye or an unplucked eyebrow, because that’s not how Hollywood works.”

A tale I saw

Three Poems From A Sofa by Laurie Eaves

A tale I wrote

There's a wooden pig
with the legs of a giraffe
and the stomach of a cow.
It's mixed in with the bin trucks
and magnetic fish, just next
to the rainbow xylophone.
The floor boards are holding
the weight of a miniature kitchen,
its drawers stuffed with soft
peppers, hotdogs, and cheese.
There is just enough room
for a mind to go for a swim
between the building blocks,
books about animals being friends,
and raisins lost from their family.
