Dear Soaring Heights Families,

It has been a cold and snowy week as we head into February. We are almost halfway through the 3rd quarter and it is wonderful to see all of the learning that is taking place in our school. Our middle school students are focusing on self-awareness for the month of February.

Next week is very busy!  Parent-Teacher Conferences are on February 8th, 9th, and 10th. Conferences will be virtual only. A link to sign up was sent out this past Monday. If you missed it, go to soaringheights.meettheteacher.com.  Monday, February 7th, is 8th grade registration night at Erie High School. Students will go over the registration process with counselors and teachers. Make sure that your student brings their iPad with them and to reach out to the high school if you have any questions.

Our Robotics Teams continue to demonstrate excellence and ingenuity in their designs and skills at their competitions. Our Middle School VEX EDR will be competing at Erie High School on Saturday.  Our Elementary VEX IQ team will compete at Fall River.  The state championship is on the 26th and will be hosted at Soaring Heights. In addition, Cyber Patriots are currently in the 10 top teams for the state of Colorado.

Wrestling began this past Monday, January 31st. Our first meet is Monday, February 7th at Coal Ridge Middle School. Good luck to our middle school wrestling team and we are excited to see you progress this season.

January has really shown off Colorado’s weather variability. Please remember to check the district website for both delayed start schedules and/or virtual learning schedules when we experience inclement weather. Please send your students to school with appropriate outerwear for cold days and for our younger students, please label coats, hats, and gloves. Please encourage your students to bring a water bottle to school every day.

A friendly reminder that during the morning and afternoon drop-off times, please turn right only onto County Road 5. This helps to keep our students and staff safe while allowing the traffic to flow smoothly.

Have a wonderful weekend and please reach out with any questions.

Cyrus Weinberger, Principal
Meghan Quirk, Assistant Principal
Krystal Trinkler, Dean of Students
Matt Romig, Dean of Students

Parent Teacher Conferences will take place on February 8, 9, 10 online only.  You will receive an email on Monday, January 31, with instructions to sign up for virtual conferences.   If you need any assistance, please call the office.

Hello Soaring Heights Families!

Starting next week, for the month of February, your child (K-5th grade) has the option to participate in the 5210+ challenge sponsored by the Healthy Kids Club of UC Health.  Student calendars were sent home this week.   This is an optional activity where your child can earn a t-shirt for their participation (80 checks) and possible prize money to put towards wellness initiatives for our school.   Once your child has completed the calendar at the end of the month, there is a link at the bottom of the calendar where you check in your child's participation.   If you didn't see the green calendar come in your child's folder this week, I've included the links where you can access the calendar and print off at home.
