Business Alert

The Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation (SDAT) announced the availability of 2022 annual reports, personal property tax returns, and extension requests for businesses registered in Maryland. All domestic and foreign business entities must file an annual report or request an extension by April 15, 2022 to maintain their "good standing" status. SDAT reminds customers that the quickest and easiest way to submit these filings is through the Maryland Business Express site.


Unemployment Insurance User Guide

In January 2022, all Maryland employers will receive notification from the Maryland Department of Labor’s Unemployment Insurance (UI) Division of their tax rate for the upcoming year. If an employer is subject to unemployment insurance taxes, this notice provides information on how their tax rate is determined, right to appeal, and the resources available. Download the guide!

Women of Color Grant Program

Fearless Fund and The Tory Burch Foundation are partnering to launch the Women of Color Grant Program. 150 deserving small businesses will be awarded $10,000- $20,000. Must be for-profit business based in US and revenue-generating. Applications close 2/9/22. Learn more here.


GoFundMe Small Business Relief Initiative

GoFundMe will issue $500 matching grants to qualifying businesses that raise at least $500 on GoFundMe. Learn more here.


Professional Beauty Association COVID Relief Fund

The PBA COVID-19 Relief Fund will provide $500 to licensed beauty professionals who are unable to work due to COVID-19. Available for professionals in the US and Canada.  Applications are reviewed weekly.  Learn more here.


Cleantech Open Accelerator Program

Do you have an idea that has the potential to solve an environmental or energy challenge?
