HELLO EVERYONE!!

Welcome to 2022 at the Susan N. McCollough Gallery and Studio Newsletter!
What an amazing and exciting year we had in 2021. It is with enthusiasm that I look forward to the New Year.
My exhibition at The University Gallery in Tuscaloosa from October 1st to December 3rd was certainly a great way to conclude 2021.
I am grateful to The University of Alabama, President Dr. Stuart Bell, Dean Messina, Dean of Arts and Sciences, Curator Daniel White, and Dr. Jason Guynes, Dean of the Art Department for their effort in seeing the exhibition (“The Expressionist’s Journey”) exceed all expectations. Fifteen large abstracts and the unveiling of Coach Nick Saban’s bronze bust were on exhibit. The opportunity to have my work exhibited at my alma mater will have an everlasting effect on my life. Thank you all!
The beginning of 2022 has already started off exceptionally well with three museums that have accepted and will house and exhibit, in perpetuity, the sculpture of Coach Nick Saban. Those museums include: the Saban section at The Bryant Museum in Tuscaloosa, Alabama; The United Sports Academy in Daphne, Alabama which houses the largest sports art in the world; and The State of Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Museum in Birmingham, Alabama. Having my work exhibited in these prestigious halls is a dream come true.
This past year so many of my paintings found a new home and I am truly grateful to those of you who have one of my paintings displayed in your homes or offices and continue to express, in letters, what the paintings mean to you. As an artist, I may have my own reasons for painting a particular work; however, when a client expresses what it means to them, it broadens my own perspective and gives me confirmation that my feelings are shared by others.
To start the New Year, I am incorporating a much larger studio space at our home where, time allowing, I can paint even more. Nothing will change at The Susan N. McCollough Gallery and Studio, where I have been fortunate to work and manage, of course with the help of Michelle Jordan, gallery assistant. It is hard to believe that my gallery has been in operation for nearly nine years. As I look forward, I trust that you will continue to visit when you can and keep in touch via email and Facebook when you are unable to visit in person.

                                                                                                          With much love,
                               Susan
