Arts in Neighborhoods

Date and Time: February 21, 2022, at 6:00 p.m.

Fund for the Arts recently announced a new initiative called Arts in Neighborhoods, which aims to celebrate art and artists who make up the unique regions and neighborhoods across Greater Louisville. Beginning in February 2022, FFTA will co-host a series of Arts in Neighborhoods events alongside neighborhood civic, community, and arts leaders. The first event to kick off this new initiative will take place on February 21 at Central High School. The event will consist of a variety of vendors, performances, and live painting. Co-hosts and performers for this event include AMPED, D.E.S.T.I.N.E.D. Dance Company, Keen Dance Theatre, LaNita Rocknettes School of Dance, Redline Performing Arts, Rheonna Thornton, founder of Lipstick Wars, River City Drum Corps, and Shawn Wade and Artistry of a Dream featuring special guest Grammy Award Winner Christian McBride.

2022 Cultural Pass
Invitation to Participate

Deadline: February 7 at 5 pm
All arts, cultural and heritage organizations in Greater Louisville are invited to participate in the 2022 Cultural Pass, a partnership of Louisville Metro Government, Fund for the Arts, Arts and Culture Alliance (ACA), and the Louisville Free Public Library. Please note that all Cultural Pass venues are members of ACA. If you would like to be a member or are unsure about your membership status with the ACA, please reach out to Janelle Renee Dunn. 
Registration for the  2022 Cultural Pass opened on January 19.  Full offering descriptions will be submitted at a later date. On Friday, January 21 there will be an information session over Zoom. Click here for more information.

Auditions

Actors Theatre of Louisville General Audition Submissions
If you’d like to submit a general audition for casting consideration at Actors Theatre of Louisville, fill out this form. ATL invites you to slate by sharing your name and pronouns. Please prepare one contemporary monologue. Additionally, you have the option to submit a contemporary monologue and song. Youth actors ages 17 and below have the option to submit a poem instead of a monologue. Please keep your submission under 3 minutes total.

Louisville Ballet 2022 / 2023 Season

TARC Design-a-Bus Contest
Deadline: February 12, 2022
In partnership with the Louisville Orchestra, this year's Design-a-Bus contest theme is "MUSIC IN MOTION." Artists are encouraged to think about the role music plays in their everyday lives or inspires them to achieve a personal goal - such as learning to play an instrument, playing a sport, or serving their community. The contest is open to all elementary, middle, and high school students in Jefferson, Oldham, and Bullitt counties in Kentucky, and Floyd and Clark counties in Southern Indiana.

City Hall Foyer Gallery Show - Jeffersonville Public Art Commission
Deadline: February 18, 2022
The gallery is comprised of a single wall in the main thoroughfare of Jeffersonville City Hall. This public access building is located at 500 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville Indiana. The display wall is 17 feet long with a clip rail-mounted approximately 12 feet in the air. Applications are currently being accepted for the March 2022 - May 2022 show.

NoCo - Jeffersonville Public Art Commission
Deadline: February 25, 2022
The gallery is comprised of five digital Samsung panels (55 inches in size) in black enclosures at 628 Michigan Avenue Jeffersonville, Indiana in the heart of the Jeffersonville Arts and Cultural District. This gallery was designed to be a permanent, accessible outdoor art display for visitors to the district. This is an unmanned gallery space monitored remotely through cameras. Applications are currently being accepted for the March 29th - April 19th show.

This position will be primarily responsible for assisting in the load-in, maintenance, and operation of theatrical lighting and atmospheric equipment for assigned productions and events. Position will be required to work on evenings and weekends.

This position will be primarily responsible for setting up and programing the lighting console for an assigned production as well assisting in the load-in, maintenance, and operation of theatrical lighting and atmospheric equipment on notes calls during the technical rehearsal period. They will also train the Lighting Board Operator in their show duties. Position will be required to work on evenings and weekends.

Title: Dressers

Dressers are responsible for all pre- and post-show duties as assigned by the Costume & Wardrobe Supervisor, as well as show duties such as pre-sets, quick changes and emergency repairs. This position is responsible for the daily maintenance of the costumes by assisting with the laundry, performing minor repairs, dressing room maintenance, and dry cleaning. Basic stitching knowledge and previous wardrobe experience is required for this position. Experience with Equity Productions is a plus. Position will be required to work on evenings and weekends.

Title: House Manager

The House Manager is the Radical Hospitality Team Leader responsible for creating a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment rooted in anti racist, anti-oppression and conflict resolution practices in all the Theatre’s facilities before, during, and after a performance. This position will work in collaboration with the Lobby Manager, Stage Management/Artistic & Production staff and the Radical Hospitality Team to navigate any challenges that arise during in-person performances. The House Manager will answer questions, listen to and engage with guests, and uplift the necessary health and safety protocols that enable Actors Theatre of Louisville to continue in-person operations.  All House Managers must be certified and capable of performing CPR and First Aid (the Theatre will provide certification training) and be comfortable with taking charge in an emergency situation and disturbances. Other responsibilities will include unlocking, locking and alarming all theater spaces. Position will be required to work on evenings and weekends and may require the ability to lift items up to 30 pounds.
