Family-to-Family Free Educational Program Begins March 9
 
NAMI Butler County’s Family-to-Family educational course begins at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, and continues weekly through April 27. The 2-hour classes will be held at the NAMI Butler office in the Holly Pointe Building, 220 South Main St., Butler. Classes will be held in-person, and NAMI Butler will comply with CDC Guidelines for in-person meetings.
 
The free, 8-session educational program—taught by trained family members with lived experience—is for family members, significant others, and friends of people who have a mental health condition. Course topics include current treatments and therapies, finding local support services, handling crises, solving problems, communicating effectively with your ill loved one, managing your own stress, and understanding the impact a mental health condition can have on family and friends.

In-person Support Group Meetings Suspended; Online Meetings Continue via Zoom

 
Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases, NAMI Butler County has temporarily suspended its in-person Support Group meetings. The monthly meetings are expected to resume in Butler, Evans City, Saxonburg, and Zelienople in April.
 
NAMI Butler’s Virtual Support Group meeting, held via Zoom at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month, will continue. Pre-registration is required to receive a meeting link. For more information, visit https://namibutler.org or call 724-431-0069.
 
NAMI Family Support Groups—offered by NAMI Affiliates in communities across the United States—are free, confidential, and safe groups for families helping other families who live with mental health challenges.

Virtual NAMI Connection Support Group Facilitator Training
Is March 5-6
 
NAMI Keystone Pennsylvania is accepting applications for its Connection Recovery Support Group Facilitator Training. The two-day virtual training will take place March 5-6.
 
Connections Support Groups are for individuals with a mental illness and is led by facilitators with a mental health condition who are in recovery. Those interested can download and complete a Connection Facilitator Application. Completed applications must be submitted to NAMI Butler County PA for approval.
