Much mushroomness

Mushroom Variations.

This month I spent some time working on a variety of earring designs made from my red mushroom cane. I also worked on my original vector sketch to create a more detailed image to use as a greeting card design.

You can read more about this project on my blog.

Glue Tip

For a while I have wanted to work on mixed media pieces by including polymer clay components in a painting. The problem is that many glues do not stick well to polymer clay. I have been doing some experimenting and so far the best combination I have found is to put super glue onto my polymer pieces, let that dry and then use E6000 epoxy glue to attach the pieces to my painting.

So far the results have been promising. I am still able to pull the pieces off but it requires concerted effort and rips off the surface of the paper rather than the polymer clay popping cleanly off the glue. Time will tell how well the glue stays attached.

I'm planning to add some bead embelishments to this piece during my next livestream. It would be great to chat if you can join me on Tuesday mornings (UK time).

Sneak Peeks

This little wishpot is not quite ready for her debut, but I think she will be soon. These have been evolving for nearly 11 years now. I first came up with the concept when my daughter was born, so it's a project very dear to my heart.

I've just had a selection of greeting cards printed. These will be available from my online shop as soon as I can list them.
