You’re invited to join Lloyd neighborhood community members, the Lloyd EcoDistrict team, and our Interim Executive Director Marta Hanson for a Town Hall Meeting tomorrow, February 18 at 12pm!
The purpose of this town hall is twofold:
1) Get to know one another: Meet our Interim Executive Director Marta Hanson, connect with other Lloyd community members, and share what you love about Lloyd.
2) EcoDistrict Certification update: Hear an update on the EcoDistrict Certification process that Lloyd EcoDistrict is currently spearheading—including the latest on the creation of our 2030 Roadmap—and ask questions, give feedback, and share your ideas.
The EcoDistrict Certification is an opportunity to create a community-driven plan to address equity, resilience, and climate protection at the neighborhood level. Hundreds of you have provided feedback and input throughout this process. The Lloyd EcoDistrict team has spent the past few months synthesizing your responses, evaluating community priorities and feasible benchmarks, and putting together a working draft for the 2030 Roadmap. We’d love to share it with you and hear your feedback.
Thank you for your ongoing commitment to building an equitable, resilient, and sustainable neighborhood here in Lloyd. We look forward to seeing you there!

Despite the winter and cold weather in the month of February so far, we were greeted with warm and beautiful sunshine as we cleaned Peace Memorial Park on February 12th. It had been about 3 months since our last cleanup and we were ready to make the park vibrant. In total, we had 58 volunteers collect about 1,500 pounds of trash and about 150 needles off the ground. The Lloyd EcoDistrict team was excited to be joined by the
Oregon Rose chapter of the National Charity League, the East Portland Rotary, and many other volunteers to help us clean the park. This would not have been possible without their help. Click here to read more about the event and check out more pictures from the event.
If you could not make it to this event, don’t worry! We have another cleanup on March 19th. You can find more details and register below.
Energy Trust of Oregon has announced changes to their incentives for commercial lighting projects for 2022 and the news is good. Per fixture incentive amounts for LED fixtures are largely unchanged. Incentive caps that had been instituted last year have been raised significantly. The annual caps are now $20,000 for Commercial sites and $40,000 for Industrial sites. Incentives for lighting controls have been increased.
In addition to the traditional plan that paid incentives after projects were completed, there are new Instant Discounts for Business Lighting. These incentives are applied immediately when you purchase qualifying LED lamps and fixtures from a participating distributor and don’t require any additional paperwork. Fortunately for LAMP participants, our distribution partner, ESCO Supplies, Inc., is participating in this program and can offer instant discounts for customers.
Contact us to learn more about the incentives and the benefits of doing a lighting retrofit through our LAMP program.
Late this spring, the City of Portland will be adding 100 new public trash cans throughout North Portland and Lloyd. The cans will be emptied twice a week and paid for by the City. Please fill out this brief survey, about where the city should put the new cans. You can find more details about the new public trash cans here, including what the trash cans look like and a map showing the neighborhoods where cans will be added this spring. Please provide feedback by March 15, 2022.
Join Lloyd Community Associations for an in-person coffee. Their Coffee Chat series is a great way to start your day and meet your neighbors. These events are free and of course coffee is provided! Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 9-10am at the Lloyd Center. https://www.lcapdx.org/events
