Climate Emergency Toolkit
An excellent resource by Tearfund alongside Christian Aid, Church of England, Green Christian, Operation Noah, Hope for the Future, Eco Church, A Rocha UK and other organisations. Step by step, the Climate Emergency Toolkit guides your church or Christian organisation through simple but powerful actions that have an impact far beyond your own walls or community.
Updated with new resources, inspiring stories, and ways to get your church involved. The core steps are still the same: Prepare, Declare, and Impact. So even if you’ve started using the Toolkit in your church or organisation, you can download this new version and dive back in. Or, if you’re yet to take the first steps, this is a great opportunity to kickstart your plans for journeying deeper into climate action.
Website still available with free resources and information for anyone to use. www.climatesunday.org

The Justice Conference on Tour and Online - presented by Tearfund
Creating spaces to gather, discuss, listen and learn about biblical justice and what this means for us as disciples of Jesus today. Our common home and common family are suffering. The climate emergency is causing rising seas, a warmer planet, and more extreme weather, all of which are devastating God’s creation. At the same time, biologists estimate that we’re driving species to extinction at a rate of 100 to 1,000 times their usual rate. “We have no such right” (Laudato Si’ 33).
Last year, more than 120,000 people and 420 organizations, representing hundreds of thousands of people, signed the petition ahead of the UN’s Climate Change Conference. Now the petition is being relaunched to call on world governments to protect God’s creation and lift up the voices of the most vulnerable at the upcoming UN biodiversity conference 25 April - 8 May 2022 in China. https://healthyplanetandpeople.org/
Plastic pollution is everywhere: in the rain, our food, even in the human placenta! But now more than 100 countries are calling for a new global treaty to end plastic pollution!
The United Nations is considering a new ambitious global treaty to end plastic pollution. If countries agree to it, we have a real chance of cleaning up our planet! But big polluters are already trying to water down the proposal. It’s up to all of us to show them that the whole world supports the strongest possible treaty to end the plastic crisis!
Sussex Green Living volunteers collect and hand sort many types of specific single use plastics and other resources for recycling, to avoid landfill or incineration and raise funds for local good causes.
Trafalgar Infant School, Greenway (Junior) Academy and the Holy Trinity Church Community in Horsham together save specific plastics and rubbish from landfill and incineration, while raising money for those communities.
Join the discussion, as we encourage and inspire churches and communities on their Eco journey, to share ideas and find out more about caring for God’s wonderful world.
