Severe Weather Alert

As Storm Eunice hits the country, the Met Office has issued an upgraded RED weather warning for London, which has also been extended to cover the South East of England - from 10am to 3pm today, 18 February. This is the highest warning level and indicates significant disruption and dangerous conditions due to the extremely strong winds. Impacts could include:

  • Danger to life from flying debris and fallen trees

  • Damage to buildings including the potential for roofs to be blown off

  • Significant disruption to most types of transport

  • Power outages.

Residents and businesses are advised to follow Met Office advice and to not travel unless absolutely necessary during the red alert period.

A previous AMBER weather warning still remains in place until 9pm this evening

Please monitor the Met Office updates in case the red weather warning is extended.

Covid-19 testing and vaccination centres

A blanket decision has been taken to close all Kingston Covid testing and vaccination sites today, 18 February. Those that have made bookings for these sites will have or should soon receive a notification of cancellation and invitation to re-book.
