I am delighted to share our good news with you. We has received grants totaling over £135,000 from Ofgem’s Energy Redress Scheme and the National Lottery’s ‘Together for our Planet’ fund for a major retrofit programme including training and engagement in the Harrogate District.
We know that many of the homes in our district urgently need whole house retrofitting to reduce energy use and therefore, carbon emissions. However, there are few trained tradespeople to undertake such work and many homeowners are unaware of the benefits of these home improvements.
The funding we have received will enable us to offer free training to local builders and train specialist retrofit assessors and coordinators to evaluate and manage home retrofit projects. We will also be employing a Retrofit Programme Manager to oversee the training and run engagement events for home owners. Read more about the programme here.
