Newsletter - April 2022

Earlier this month Terradepth announced, through an exclusive TechCrunch article, that we raised $20 million in Series A funding. Giant Ventures and Nimble Partners co-led the Series A financing. This enables us to continue refining the Absolute Ocean platform as we get feedback from our first customers, expand the Terradepth team and advance our autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) energy recharge capability.

We’ve had a great Q1 in 2022, and want to thank you for being part of this journey.

Highlights:

  • Terradepth showcased our solutions at Oceanology International 2022 in London, the world’s foremost conference on marine science, technology and commerce. During the conference, we engaged many of the industry’s leaders in marine research, innovation and survey operations.

  • Terradepth and Chesapeake Technologies announced a partnership to develop artificial intelligence applications in the field of sonar automatic target recognition with the intent to develop a seamless transition from sonar collection, data processing and target display.

  • We announced our partnership with TCarta Marine, the Colorado-based provider of hydrospatial products. TCarta will present its satellite-derived bathymetric (SDB) data sets on Absolute Ocean for the first time at the GEOINT 2022 Symposium on April 25th.

  • Terradepth will exhibit at the International Offshore Wind Partnering Forum in Atlantic City, NJ from April 26th to the 28th and at the Canadian Hydrographic Conference in Gatineau, (Ottawa) from June 6th to the 9th. We will also be presenting at the Great Lakes Observation Systems (GLOS) Mapping the Great Lakes symposium from April 26th to the 28th.

  • Terradepth joined the Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) Maritime Advocacy Committee. The AUVSI is the world's largest non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of uncrewed systems and robotics.

TCarta to Showcase Satellite Derived Bathymetric Data Products in Terradepth’s Absolute Ocean

TCarta recently signed a partnership agreement with Terradepth, and plans to present its satellite-derived bathymetric (SDB) data sets on Terradepth’s Absolute Ocean visualization platform for the first time at GEOINT 2022. Additional in-booth presentations will feature the latest SDB techniques for extracting water depth measurements from MAXAR, Sentinel, Satellogic and other satellite image data. Absolute Ocean is our cloud-based, browser-accessible ocean data management platform designed to facilitate exploration of marine geospatial data sets including multibeam, side scan, synthetic aperture sonar, Lidar and magnetometer. This kind of arrangement will help TCarta, and other like-minded partners, present, market, and monetize their data like never before.

“Absolute Ocean provides a unique new way to visualize and analyse TCarta SDB products,” said TCarta president Kyle Goodrich. “The platform allows users to easily overlay multiple data sets on SDB layers to gain new perspectives on the subsurface marine environment.”

New SonarWiz and Absolute Ocean Integration

We’re happy to announce that Terradepth and Chesapeake Technologies have entered into an agreement to collaborate on a solution for Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) in mosaiced imagery data. This integrated workflow will connect Chesapeake’s SonarWiz software and Terradepth’s Absolute Ocean (AO) platform, making a seamless and straightforward approach from collection to processing and full analysis.

Once a mosaic is provided, the output will generate an area of targets identified. In this image above, the green blocks are targets found by Absolute Ocean’s automated machine learning algorithms.

Terradepth at the International Offshore Wind Partnering Forum 2022

Terradepth is proud to announce its participation at the International Offshore Wind Partnering Forum in Atlantic City, NJ from April 26th to the 28th. This is a great opportunity to feature our Survey Services and Absolute Ocean platform in one of the premier offshore wind energy conferences in North America.
