We invite you to join us for an Ash Wednesday experience on March 2 at 7 PM CST. This sacred day calls our attention to the fragility of our humanity, but also to the expansive creative possibilities that exist within and around us. Through original music, art, and spiritual practice, we will begin the Lenten journey from the Community of Christ Temple Meditation Chapel.

Temple School

Central Mission Center now has a class scheduled for those in need.
Introduction to Priesthood will be taught by Jeanne Earnest at the Mid Continent Public Library (1000 NE Colbern Rd, Lee's Summit, MO 64064). Class will be April 7,14,21,28, and May 5 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. (If we need to adjust the time to accommodate more ordinands please reach out to Laura Reed)
Materials for these classes must be purchased in advance. They can be purchased here.

Book Study

YOU ASKED FOR IT! Another JPAT book study.
By popular demand the Greater Kansas City Justice and Peace Action Team is offering another book study. How the Word is Passed: A Reckoning with the History of Slavery Across America by Clint Smith will be discussed via Zoom. Save the dates for 7 bi-weekly sessions on Tuesdays: March 1,15, 29; April 12, 26; and May 10 & 24 from 7:00-8:30pm. Central & Midlands Mission Centers of Community of Christ look forward to sharing this important exploration with you. Order the book, begin reading and watch for more details!

Child Protection Training

There are new dates available for Child Protection Training. These session will be held online via Zoom. If you would like to attend please contact Tyler Horringa at tylerhorringa@centralmission.org. You only need to take this class one time.

Young Adult:

Peace is the Way
The Young Adult Ministry Team would like to invite all young adults to the upcoming retreat happening at Lake Doniphan Conference and Retreat Center! We will be engaging in relationship, playing games, and exploring our own discipleship journeys.

I was so happy that Lake Doniphan could open its doors again in 2021. Our guests are what makes the campground feel like home. I am very social, so I greatly missed having conversations with staff, campers, and retreat goers. I am

proud of the Lake Doniphan team. Everyone stepped up to help make sure that the dining experience went smoothly with the new COVID protocols. Many staff members went above and beyond helping to serve meals and clean up.

In 2021 we also hosted a Workday and Family Fun Day. Both were successful events that I am looking forward to being a part of again in 2022. I was also able to help redesign the disc golf course during fall 2021. The baskets are installed, and I can’t wait to see our guests enjoy the new course! I am also excited that our schedule is filling up for the 2022 calendar year. It is going to be wonderful to have more groups enjoying Lake Doniphan
