** PCI EXTENDS BEST WISHES TO ALL DONORS AND VOLUNTEERS, MAKING POSSIBLE ALL FEBRUARY 2022 ACTIVITIES. **
PCI extends sincere appreciation to Goldman Sachs team that signed Valentines Day cards.
* PCI has been consistently been Serving 150 meals at our site, 500 E. Front Street. This has occurred on a weekly basis. Meals have consistently included: fried chicken, potato salad, mac/cheese, special banana bread, fresh fruits, chips, cookies, soda, water, etc. This has continued uninterrupted. We had 10 high school students from Brandywine High School, who volunteered at the Serve and helped clean up the area. These students were led by Mazie Donohue. At one of our Serves, we also introduced entertainment where our very own rock start (Sachchit Shankar) performed 5 songs in the back of the PCI van. These songs were listened to with great interest by the recipients of the Serve. On Feb 6th 2022, we also had a Valentine's day celebration, where volunteers wrote out valentine day cards to each of the people we Serve. There were also a group of people from Goldman Sachs who wrote out cards that were delivered to people along with a goodie bag.
** PCI has successfully started Serving at OUR DAILY BREAD (214 N.Broad Street, Middletown DE) and conducted Serve Jan 4 and Feb 1st. The Serves will be conducted 1st Tuesday of every month. The meals have consisted of sausage and pepper hoagies, pasta salad, amongst other items. Our group of volunteers (7-8 each time) has been lead by Linda Laura Rowley. All food was prepared by these volunteers on site Volunteers Served it and cleaned up. Approximately 4 hours per Serve by this team were spent. This will be ongoing.
