For the week of February 13th

St. Mary Families,

For this coming week, I would like to remind families that we have a half day of school on Friday, February 18, and no school on Monday, February 21, for midwinter break. Parent teacher conferences will be conducted this week, Thursday evening and Friday afternoon. Teachers will be in contact to set up times to meet with you.

I would also like to thank Mrs. Linda Pratt for all of her efforts in driving our athletic teams for St. Mary Cathedral School. Linda also helps shuttle our students to Mass at the Cathedral on cold days, and also moves our children throughout town when the need arises. We appreciate her support . I also would like to thank Ryan Charbonneau with Total Audio Engineering, who continues to assist our school when the need arises.  We are blessed to have these two individuals a part of our school family.

Lastly, please remember to attend our City Council meeting on Monday night at 7:00 p.m..

God bless,
Jerry Belanger

We welcome, Adam Shoop, High School Social Studies Teacher, beginning February 28th.
A word from Adam:
I’m from Western Michigan, but I’ve been living in South Korea for the past 3+ years. I'm prior service with the Army. My last duty station was at Camp Humphreys (located in Korea). While serving, I ended up falling in love with the country, the people, and the culture. I decided once I left the military to return to Korea and begin my teaching career. I recently finished my teaching contract as an ESL teacher. I taught at a hagwon (private English academy) and it was very interesting to see the differences in the culture, how the school was run, and how education is valued overall. I taught mainly in Korea, but I also taught in Lithuania through the Army’s Cultural Understanding and Language Program (CULP). When I’m not teaching, I enjoy traveling, hiking, mentoring /coaching, and reading.
We have a lot of fish to fry!
Our students were asked to lend a helping hand to unload the truck.
An induction ceremony of the National Honor Society was held last week, welcoming Jackson Koenig, Tori Kuznicki, Miriam Murrell, and Brian Keister into membership of our Carmelite Chapter of St. Mary Cathedral School. Congratulations!
Congratulations to Emma Glasby, Aidan Yaske, Lydia Kirk, and Annalise Udell! They were all awarded twos for their duets at Solo and Ensemble last Saturday!
