Each year, the Middle School Local Hero team seeks out a local hero to honor. They spend time learning about the Civil Rights movement and Roanoke history and then identify the qualities of those social justice heroes to lift up Roanoke Valley citizens. Our students gleaned inspiration from our honorees to create art pieces and share a performance for our recipients.
Join us on the Enrichment Facebook group as we live-stream this year’s Local Hero Award Ceremony on Thursday, February 17 at 2:00 pm. We will share the work of our honorees, Susan Mayhew with Blue Ridge Cancer Care, Sunni Purviance with I Heart SE, and this year's winner, Jonathan Pait with the YMCA.

Information Session & Open House

If you have local friends or family who are interested in learning more information about Community School for their own children, please pass this information along to them! We have two events coming up: A virtual Preschool Information meeting and a Kindergarten Open House. Both opportunities allow parents to interact with the teachers and learn about Community School. The Kindergarten Open House will be an in person experience and will also include activities for the students.

Information regarding financial aid for the the 2022-23 school year is now available on our website.
