FRESH WIND IN SOLOTHURN
Be it the special edition “ad interim”, or be it the slow transition from pandemic to endemic, there was an atmosphere of both fragility and richness at the Solothurner Filmtage this year. For these reasons some people were missing, but the general uncertainty has also conveyed a positive atmosphere of openness and curiosity.
This optimism was also marked by an unusual concentration of interesting filmic proposals: Filmexplorer has discussed twenty films, five through video interviews (the one with Elie Grappe on Olga is coming soon) and five podcast exchanges:
Other discussions will follow for the planned film starts in cinema theatres. In the meantime, we want to underline the strong presence of a young generation of filmmakers who often dare to pursue either an original aesthetic or formal path.
Is this the sign of a new way of doing cinema in Switzerland? A new trend? HERE Giuseppe Di Salvatore attempted to render this trend visible.
We like to connect this new impetus with a figure of uncompromised commitment to art and poetry: Jürg Hassler. Here is Ruth Baettig’s PODCAST after an exceptional meeting with him.
