This embroidery class is perfect for beginners and comes with everything you need to conquer your own embroidery project. In this class, you will learn and practice several different embroidery stitches. This pattern – designed by the instructor, Nichole Sorhaindo, founder of The Other Cat – is part of a series inspired by the poem “Touched by An Angel” by Maya Angelou. Grab a glass of wine and get ready to learn, relax, and fall in love with embroidery!

The class comes with:

• One embroidery hoop
• Needle
• Embroidery floss
• Fabric with an original hand-drawn pattern
• Step-by-step instructions
• Reusable storage bag

*To participate in the SMIDC/VA in person classes, participants must show proof of vaccination. Additionally, masks are required for all guests  unless actively eating or drinking.Our team members are vaccinated and are required to wear masks at all times.

PANTONE BLACK challenges what many perceive to be a Black monolith. Each of us has our own character that distinguishes us from the next person, much like any ethnic group, however, there are also profound and cultural consistencies that unite us as a people.

Featuring artists from New York, New Jersey, Baltimore and of course, Washington DC, PANTONE BLACK serves to highlight the dichotomy of our experiences as Black people, while maintaining the festivity and joyous celebration of our diverse culture, our history and Fine Art.
