Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope you enjoyed your weekend. We were busy with Our Lady of Guadalupe Parishioners sharing the good news of St. Mary’s Catholic School. Thank you to all who helped us share.

Last Wednesday tuition rates and tuition assistance information, for the 2022-2023 school year, was sent via email. If you have any questions please contact Ms. Giannotti via email mgiannotti@stmarys-temple.org or call the school office 254-778-8141.
Tuition Assistance 22-23

Lent is just around the corner and with Lent comes the Knights of Columbus and KJT Fish Fry dinners. Each year we are given the opportunity to help our parish community by working at these dinners. Students in grades 3-8 volunteer for Christian service hours and faculty and staff help as well. This year we have the opportunity to help with 6 dinners beginning March 4th and continuing each Friday during Lent.

Please see the sign-up sheet in the office. Space is limited so do not delay. Hours of help are 4:30-7:30 p.m. Parent help is also welcome.

Knights of Columbus Hall, 2218 West Ave. D. Students should wear their school shirt or spirit shirt and nice jeans and a mask.

On behalf of the faculty and staff I would like to thank our generous families for the royal treatment we were given on Friday. From our hot breakfast to our delicious lunch to the gifts that just kept on coming, we all felt truly celebrated. THANK YOU!!!!!

Have a blessed week.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Wyles

Thank you to our supporters!!
Thank you to our many parents & guardians that made Friday such a success for the faculty and staff. A special thanks to Mrs. Ghergherehchi, the SMCS PAC and the following business supporters.

You can earn 1 service hour by simply sharing our Open House event on Facebook!

Enrollment Applications
Thank you to everyone who completed our Sibling Pre-Registration Form. New student applications for the 2022-2023 school year are now available!
For questions regarding admissions or the application, please contact Ms. Giannotti at mgiannotti@stmarys-temple.org.

Volunteer Opportunity
Our new computers have arrived and we are needing as many hands on Saturday from 9am - Noon to help set up the new SMCS Computer lab. If you are available and can help we would greatly appreciate it.
Congratulations and Thank you!
Each year faculty and staff have the opportunity to apply for a grant from the Diocese for school supplies. This year's grant has been awarded to Mary Arriola, our Falcon Care Assistant. Mary wrote a grant for Falcon Care materials and was awarded 1000.00. Congratulations and thank you!

Chocolate Raffle
Thank you to all those who have been participating in our World's Finest Chocolate Fundraiser, but we still have plenty of chocolate left.
For every box of chocolate sold, your name will be entered into a drawing to win one of three holiday themed raffle baskets!

Themes will include:

  • Mardi Gras Basket
  • Easter Basket
  • Summertime Basket
This fundraiser is not mandatory but a great way to help support the school. All proceeds from the sale go to our general operating fund. This is also one of two major fundraisers to help those who received tuition assistance fulfill their obligation of helping refill that fund.

Stop by the office to check out your boxes!
Texan Day

Try and WIN a NEW TRUCK!!!!
St. Mary's Catholic Church has begun selling raffle tickets. Stop by the school, church office or after Mass to purchase yours! Tickets are only $10.00 each.  Please contact the church office for more information.

Save these Dates and Help us Spread the Good News at all Masses

We know that word of mouth is the best advertiser there is. So as we begin 2022, we will be spreading the good news of St. Mary’s to families who are seeking quality Catholic Education in the Classical Tradition. We ask for your help.

Father Kurtis will be sharing the good news of St. Mary’s to the parishioners of our neighboring parishes. He is asking, as are we, for help from our parents, faculty and staff, grandparents and students to help him share this good news.

  • February 26th and 27th at St. Luke Church in Temple

Please let Ms. Giannotti  know where/when you can help (mgiannotti@stmarys-temple.org). It is very important that we share with others the opportunity to join our family.

Fat Tuesday Bake Sale
The SMCS Drama department will be selling baked goods during both lunches on Tuesday, March 1st. All items will be .50 to 1.00 with all proceeds going to the Drama department to fix up the SMCS School Auditorium.

If anyone would like to donate baked goods to sell, we would greatly appreciate it.

PAC News
Next meeting will be March 8th at 6:00 pm in the SMCS cafeteria. Lots of goings on to be discussed, please come out and see what all the news is about!

Also, the next PAC popcorn day is February 25th. Popcorn and drinks are only .50 a piece.

PSIA News
We are so excited to host this year’s District 6A Meet at St. Mary’s. The meet will be on our campus on Saturday, March 26th. Because we are the host school, there will be much preparation above and beyond the coaching aspects. I will be asking for parent volunteers and hope that you will help us create a successful event. Coaches will be asked to submit final names at the end of January. Please ensure your student is attending practices and completing assigned work.
Classroom Spotlight: This week is 2nd Grade
Science- Be Healthy

Second Grade's lesson in Science this week was all about being healthy! To better learn about healthy foods, they examined the nutrition facts on yogurt containers. They had to record numbers from the nutrition facts such as serving size, calcium, and protein. Once the students were done, they were able to enjoy their healthy snack!
