As 2022 unfolds I hope it brings you new challenges – and that we can get together easily and safely. 

We are excited on the WITops side of the house because we have just launched our new book: Retaining Women in Tech: Shifting the Paradigm. 

Nicola and I have worked hard to help you understand what women need in a tech job – and what gets in their way. Given that understanding, we defined and tested practical interventions to address key challenges that women face on tech teams. These interventions, like the Team Onboarding Checklist, give you tools to improve team cohesion and the overall success of members of diverse teams. And The Remote Work Project helped us ensure that these understandings and interventions work for remote teams as well.

CHI22 is coming! We will be introducing some effective team techniques in our course at CHI22 – Inclusion Techniques for Team Practices in HCI. This remote course introduces practices that interrupt bias and negative interactions on your diverse teams while ensuring all voices are heard during working meetings.
