News from the Office

Throughout January and February, RWN will host events during our Membership Drive 2022 geared toward introducing our organization to Rochester professionals who are focused on expanding their business and social networks.

If you’re a current RWN member, for every new member you refer who becomes an RWN member as part of RWN’s 2022 Membership Drive, you’ll receive a ticket for a drawing at March’s Free Networking. Prizes will include a $100 restaurant gift certificate, winner's choice, or one year of a free RWN basic-level membership. Increase your chances of winning by referring as many new members as you can, like:

  • solopreneurs starting a new business
  • corporate professionals expanding their client base
  • women in career transition or who are new to Rochester
  • virtual workers looking for more social interaction
  • anyone interested in new opportunities and broadening their horizons

Thinking about RWN but not a member yet? Now’s the perfect time to join! Sign up for a membership right at any Membership Drive event and you’ll enjoy $10 off any level.

We hope to see you—and a friend—then!

Rochester Women's Network has a Facebook Group just for members! If you aren't a member yet, go here to join.

We have added new email addresses to help members and others reach us more directly, including finance@rwn.org, fundraising@rwn.org, membership@rwn.org, and programs@rwn.org. These emails, in addition to our general rwn@rwn.org, are checked frequently by committee members, so feel free to reach out should you need anything.

RWN’s committees and SIGs are always looking for new members! Drop us a line if you’re interested in getting more involved in RWN or if you’re looking for more information on a particular SIG or committee.

Posted on February 2, 2022

When you’re developing a promotional strategy for your brand, partnership marketing is one element you may want to include. Committee / SIG Updates

The Leadership from Within SIG is for members interested in enhancing or expanding their leadership skills and will be structured to allow members to share their leadership experiences and ideas, develop their skills, and bring them to bear on their own lives through a combination of action and reflection.

Monthly gatherings:

  • Allow members to share their leadership experiences and ideas, develop their skills, and bring them to bear on their own lives through a combination of action and reflection.
  • Will explore all aspects of leadership, whether personal or professional development.
  • Are offered in a hybrid model: in-person or virtually using Zoom*.

The best part? You do not have to be in a leadership position or have formal leadership experience! The collaborative model of this SIG will encourage participants to contribute to the group and share responsibility for its development. Join us on the third Friday of each month, 7:30 – 9:00 a.m. to Lead from Within. To sign up, contact either co-chair: Stephanie (steff.webster@gmail.com) or Karen (kschuhle@brockport.edu).

The RWN Membership Committee is looking for new members. They are currently meeting on the second Wednesday of every month at Noon. Please contact Amy Varel at avarel@boylancode.com for more information.

The Ambassador Committee is searching for more people to help welcome our newest members!  It is a great way to meet new people and also sing the praises of RWN.  Please contact Nancy Woolver at newoolver@ft.newyorklife.com or 585-683-2981 for more information!

Our members are our inspiration at Rochester Women’s Network, so the Programs Committee would love to hear your ideas on what events and programming you’d like to see offered in 2022.

This past year, members enjoyed speed networking sessions, social get-togethers both in-person and online, interactive talks on professional development and business-related issues, and of course our Women Rise conference, which featured discussions with panels of Rochester-area experts.

What would you like to see in 2022? Please email us at programs@rwn.org with ideas for programs and events and any questions you may have.

All RWN SIGs and Committees are looking for new members. Visit rwn.org to see where your talents and interests might fit in!
