Today is a bright and sunny February day!  It seems unusually sunny- and perhaps that is because the Lord is working in ways of bright love and light made visible through our church.  I am so encouraged to see the number of COVID cases dropping and hope that soon we will see more folks return to Sunday School and worship!  We are busy making plans for Lent and Easter and by your prayers and the Holy Spirit at work we will have a memorable and meaningful season.

There are some positive things to report from around the church.  Because of a designated gift at the end of 2021, we were able to replace more windows in the Family Life Center building.  I am so grateful for this effort to maintain our church building-- let the light shine in!  There are also efforts to advance our work on the columbarium, veggie garden and the sanctuary carpet fund. Later in the summer we will have another rummage sale as well.

Coming on Saturday, April 9th (the day before Palm Sunday) we hope to host a meal packing event with City Connections and have our sister United Methodist Churches in Saline County attend.  Keep your ears open for the opportunity to volunteer and help!

For the first time in many months, I feel like we are going to come out of hibernation and really get back to full steam ahead on our ministry and mission.  We have persevered.  It's going to take all of us to come back together and re-energize our church for the good things and important opportunities ahead!  Remember these words from 1 Chronicles 16:11, "Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always."  We look to the Lord to help us renew and return our church to our ministry capacity.

Blessings and bright light of the Son be upon you-
Pastor Susan
Love: Both Sides, Now
Our last sermon in the Love: Both Sides, Now series for February focuses on the last section of Luke 6 when Jesus really lays out the extreme nature of God's love and instruction for how we should love others.  Love our enemies?!?!?  Do unto others as I would have them do unto me?  The bar is set pretty high.  But God's love moves us higher than we thought we could go ourselves.  Join us- inperson or online- this Sunday at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.
Ready to Garden! Glory Be!
If you are interested in sharing tending a 10x15 garden plot at the church, please call the church office and let Trena know your interest.  We are gathering interested people to see how many would like to participate then we will know how to prepare.
