If you can’t make it tomorrow, the next day Thursday February 17th I'll be participating at the Black Experience Summit at Elms College as part of a panel along with other media artists and activists around the theme of "The Art of Storytelling" sharing about my work on community-filmmaking with Afro-Ecuadorian communities. You can attend by registering here. Thank you to my colleague and friend Dr. Jennifer Shoaff for the invitation!

Finally, I am very proud to announce the premiere next month (March 2022) of three new short documentaries born out of our Food Heritage Youth Guardians project this past October in Calceta, a rural coastal town in Ecuador.

The premiere will be held 1) onsite at the Chirjos neighborhood in Calceta where we produced the films in collaboration with children, youth and women enrolled in our community-based ethnography and visual arts program and 2) live online via social media platforms. Stay tuned for future updates and share this information with friends!

Si no pueden conectarse mañana, al día siguiente, el jueves 17 de febrero, participaré en el evento Black Experience Summit de Elms College como parte de un panel junto con otros artistas y activistas en torno al tema "El arte de contar historias," compartiendo experiencias de mi trabajo en Esmeraldas. Por último, estoy feliz de anunciar el estreno el próximo mes (marzo de 2022) de tres nuevos cortos documentales nacidos de nuestro proyecto Jóvenes guardianes de saberes del patrimonio agroalimentario, que realizamos en octubre pasado en Calceta, en la costa de Ecuador.

El estreno se llevará a cabo 1) en el barrio de Chirjos en Calceta, donde realizamos el rodaje en colaboración con lxs niñxs, jóvenes y mujeres participantes de nuestro programa de etnografía y artes visuales y 2) en vivo en línea a través de redes sociales.
