Welcome to the 18 February edition of the Swimming NSW e-newsletter

$1000 Grassroots Sports Fund Grant now available
Swimming NSW is pleased to advise that applications for the Grassroots Sport Fund are now open and eligible clubs and area associations are encouraged to apply.

The Grassroots Sport Fund is part of the NSW Government’s Community Sport Recovery Package, providing a one-off grant of up to $1,000 for clubs and associations to help the sporting sector and club communities recoup funds lost to COVID-19. 

Swimming NSW, with support from the Office of Sport, will be responsible for administering the grant to its eligible affiliated clubs.

Many Swimming NSW clubs and areas meet the eligibility criteria, so please take a few minutes to apply for this $1,000 grant.

Overhaul for 2022 Australian Championships summer calendar

Originally scheduled for April, the 2022 Australian Swimming Championships have been pushed back a month following FINA’s announcement that World Championships will be held in Budapest in June.

The Australian Championships will now run from May 17-22 and remain at the South Australian Aquatic & Leisure Centre in Adelaide, with the meet to act as trials for FINA World Championships, the Birmingham Commonwealth Games and World University Games.

The Australian Multi-Class Swimming Championships are now set to take place from 9-12 April in Adelaide, coinciding with Australian Age Championships which commence on 11 April, as originally planned.

11-18 April - 2022 Australian Age Swimming Championships
17-22 May - 2022 Australian Swimming Championships

Zoom with Matt Levy: Let your members know!
Five-time Paralympian, triple Paralympic gold medalist and author, Matt Levy, wants to share the tools he's learned for setting achievable goals with Swimming NSW members.

Swimmers aged 8-16 years are invited to Zoom with Matt on Friday 25 February from 5pm for an interactive presentation on goal-setting.

They'll learn Matt's method, create their own plan, and finish up with an opportunity for Q&A with Matt.

Reuploading results
Reminder for clubs that if you need to reupload meet results for any reason, in addition to providing your Area with the ne results, you must contact Swimming NSW for it to be reverified via the back end of Swim Central. 

Member transfers
Is a club member making a transfer to or from your club and their initial membership was purchased using an Active Kids Voucher? If so, they must follow THESE STEPS in order for the transfer to be successful. 

Change to Swim Central features
Access to ‘Force Expiry’ and ‘Force Suspension’ features soon to be restricted to State/National Entities.

New dashboard shortcut
Added new ‘Join a Club’ shortcut to the dashboard; takes the user directly to the ‘Memberships’ suggestions pages
