The aim of this event was to bring together solution providers and practitioners in order to discuss identified gaps and challenges, innovative solutions and ideas related with the management of natural hazards and technological accidents.
100 participants (industry, researchers, practitioners) were present at the event at peak time.
The aim of the event, besides the FIRE-IN main goal and progress and MEDEA objectives , was to enhance and boost the interaction between practitioners and technology suppliers, to present innovative technological solutions to practitioners and to present, discuss, and analyze the current status of already available and future technologies in relation to the current and future common capability challenges and gaps of the two projects.
During the morning session, technology suppliers were given the floor to present their innovative solutions and ideas. In total, 13 technology suppliers, presented 16 solutions and ideas. Also, a presentation of CRISPRO project was made.
During the afternoon session, a dedicated workshop took place in order to discuss the level of coverage of current and future common capability challenges of FIRE-IN, and the current and future trends regarding technologies addressing the topics of the FIRE-IN working groups.
From the workshop, one of the most important topics for the future was the challenge of “cultural change towards risk tolerance and resilience”. Risk awareness from the perspective of citizens and the preparedness of population is extremely significant to save lives and can boost the existence of current and future available technologies.
