The Oswin Project is holding two ground breaking events in March

A Conference on 2nd March at Newcastle Cathedral, the theme is ‘Changing perceptions’. A panel of people who have experienced the transition to work from prison are guiding the day; speakers include Kameel Khan, the inspiration behind Project ReMake, Darren Burns, National Recruitment Ambassador for Timpson’s, Kim McGuiness, Police & Crime commissioner, Lance Harris of the New Futures Network, Lindsay Blackmore, Deputy Director of HMP Northumberland and John McCabe CEO of the North East Chamber of Commerce. An Art Exhibition of prisoner’s art works will be opening on Tuesday 1 March 2022. This innovative exhibition will showcase artworks created within a selection of prisons, challenging society’s preconceived attitudes to prisoners and prisons. The exhibition is supported by Koestler Arts and The Burnbake Trust The art will be located in the Refectory and around the cathedral. It will run until Sunday 3 April 2022. A preview from will be held on 1st March between 4 to 8pm. The evening will be an opportunity to view and buy artworks and thanks, to the generosity of Hepple Spirits, there will be complimentary drinks accompanied by Canapes supplied by Café 16.
