You Rock!

2021 was a gangbuster year with thousands of new visitors, exhibits that honored and celebrated EMS, more EMS history research then ever before, and the largest NEMSM crew ever! Not to mention the Premier Edition of The EMS Historian! These are no small feats independently, but because of YOUR dedication to NEMSM, 2021 was the best year yet and set up 2022 to be even more impactful as the board and volunteers work on strategic initiatives for the future.

Thank you for all the meaningful contributions you make to NEMSM, and the future of EMS across the United States, day in and day out.

Message from the NEMSM President

Over the past two months, we have kept our Board of Directors busy. Our year-end push for new members and donations was quite successful. Because of you we reached an all time high of new members and we are thrilled to have you all as part of the NEMSM crew!

We were also delighted to welcome Dr. Jon R. Krohmer, recently retired Director of the Office of EMS, NHTSA, US Department of Transportation to our Board of Directors. Jon has a long and highly regarded career in EMS, both at the federal and local levels.

Responding Heroes at Atlanta History Center recently closed and during the run of the exhibits, over 26,000 visitors viewed our exhibit at AHC and in our Virtual Museum. What is most significant about this number is the fact that these were visitors to Atlanta, and those who wondered through our virtual galleries, not necessarily our EMS colleagues. That’s over 20,000 citizens, friends, and families who gained a better understanding of what EMS is, not only in their daily lives, but in times of crisis.

As the pandemic starts to wane, we look forward to seeing many of you face-to-face at various venues around the country or, perhaps, remotely through our virtual programs and at our traveling exhibits.
