I’ve finally got my submission package together, and I’m now querying. Oh, what a tangled can of worms that is going to be… it’s inspired me to talk about all the advice I’ve been reading to get this process under way.

It’s not a lot to ask is it?
That at least one agent should shout out, ‘Oh god! I love it!’ and send over the contract with those lovely stickers for where you have to sign?

Oh, yes it is. (Oh no it isn’t … oops, sorry, this is not a pantomime, though it may feel like that much of the time)

There is a LOT of good advice on the interwebs for how to find and trap entrance an agent.
You’ll need to know the following at the very least:

How to write a good query letter.
How to perfect a synopsis.
Where to find your agent.
