New LPRC Team Member:

Orion Santangelo

Orion Santangelo is a recent graduate from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte earning a Masters of Science in Criminal justice with two certifications in Crime Analytics and Geographic Information Science and Technology. Prior to UNC Charlotte, he was an intelligence analyst for the United States Marine Corps.

There he worked within the global intelligence community to provide safe solutions and built upon newfound knowledge that led him to pursue a degree in which social, criminological, and ethical application could provide strategies for evidence-based decision making.

Consequently, his research examined the relationship between social movements and social networks within organized crime, to include terrorist and extremist groups, and he examined vulnerable communities and their relationship with substance use.

Outside of academic interests, he enjoys exploring the outdoors, finding new food to try, and nerding out to tabletop/video games.

Welcome to the Team Orion!
