The College Board is an organization that connects students to opportunities for after high school. College Board helps students plan for a successful transition to college through programs and services in college readiness and college success. In March, EGRMS staff will walk our 8th grade students through the steps to create a free College Board account. Additionally, students will be taught how to link their Khan Academy accounts to their College Board account. Khan Academy provides personal practice recommendations based on individual PSAT/NMSQT results. Scores from the upcoming PSAT 8/9 will be sent to help customize each student’s practice and recommendations on Khan Academy. If you have any questions about College Board or your child’s account, please contact Mrs. McIntosh at kmcintos@egrps.org.





PSAT 8/9 
On April 13th, EGRMS will administer the PSAT 8/9 to all eighth grade students. The Michigan Department of Education has chosen to administer the College Board's PSAT 8/9. This test must be taken on the scheduled testing date. Please avoid scheduling appointments during this testing date.

Due to COVID-19, we are continuing many of our safety procedures from last school year, which are in alignment with the guidelines provided by the Kent County Health Department (KCHD). Our staff will maintain what we know to be at the heart of teaching and learning; strong, positive relationships. We appreciate your cooperation, understanding and support in keeping our students and staff safe. District information on COVID-19 is available on our website linked here.

We've Found It, Who Lost It?

Now would be a great time to check out the middle school lost and found.  Found items may be reclaimed just beyond the entrance to the gym.  Any remaining items will be donated at the end of the trimester (February 25th).

Students are issued “Way to Go” cards for demonstrating Respect, Responsibility or Personal Best by doing the right thing!  As students receive these cards, they are placed in the container located in the Main Office. Every Friday, names are drawn and announced during the afternoon announcements.  Each student selected, has the opportunity to pick a prize from the prize basket simply as a way to say “Thanks, we appreciate and recognize you!”

Descriptions of duties are available to review.  

Nominations will be accepted through March.  Nominees are reviewed and voted on in April. New board members will be sworn in at May 23, 2022 General Meeting.  Term begins June 2022.

Hot lunch service has returned for the 2021-22 school year and is available to all students at no charge.  Free school lunches must be ordered online in advance to ensure adequate food is prepared.  This form is simple and quick. Menus and other information can be found on the form.

Breakfast is served at the middle school from 7:30 - 7:45 a.m. Students are invited to enjoy a FREE hot or cold breakfast, now that's a great start to a school day! 

FOUNDATION ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Looking for a way to serve our schools and our community? Want to make a powerful, positive difference in the lives of our students? Consider becoming a member of the Foundation Board of Directors. Board members attend monthly board meetings, vote on grant requests from the district, and participate in working committees with specific tasks and responsibilities that cater to board members’ individual skill sets.
