Prayer Shawl Ministry Meeting
We are meeting this Saturday Feb. 12 in the Peach Room of Walton Hall at 11:30 a.m.
St. John's Prayer Shawl Ministry, which began in the fall of 2013, is composed of a diverse group of creative women and men - novice to accomplished - who knit and crochet individually craft shawls and baby blankets praying as they begin each one and throughout the process of, stitch by stitch, completing them. Recipients may be struggling with a serious illness, facing a difficult surgery and recovery, homebound, transitioning to hospice care or other similar situation. When they are finished, each shawl gets a label describing it as for the healing and comfort of the recipient. Each blanket's label celebrates blessing and joy. After it is blessed, a shawl or blanket can be given to anyone the giver thinks might find it a comfort or a joy.
For more information, to join or to make a referral, please contact either Polly Sosnowski (polly.sosnowski@gmail.com) or Susan Neville (sneville1027@yahoo.com)

Annual Global Missions' Oyster Roast
Put Saturday, March 5th - 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on your calendar for our annual Global Missions’ oyster roast. There will be live music by Pluff Mud String Band, a bonfire, chili, hot dogs, deserts and, of course, delicious oysters harvested from Richard Baldwin’s lease in pristine waters of the ACE Basin. Bring the family and invite friends to enjoy St. John’s Christian fellowship. Donations will be accepted as our church supports 75 clergy children’s scholarships each year in the Diocese of Northern Uganda.

Tornado devastation
Anglican Relief and Development Fund® (ARDF)
Deadly tornadoes killed an estimated 100 people and destroyed a thousand properties, leaving tens of thousands without power. Western Kentucky was especially hard hit. ARDF has trusted partners willing and able to respond to the crisis. You can support them by donating to their Joseph Fund. This fund exists to get funds out quickly to churches and affiliated nonprofits to support the efforts of volunteers responding to the crisis.
If you would like to support this cause, you can either donate through St. John's Parish Church and write Anglican Relief Fund or ARDF on your gift or go to the Anglican Relief Donation Page https://ardf.org/joseph-fund

For Persecuted Churches
photo Courtesy of Conservative Movement of Ukraine
We pray for persecuted churches around the world. For the month of February, we pray for the nations of Russia and the Ukraine. Heavenly Father, we pray for Christians in both nations to endure through governmental oppression and societal indifference to the Gospel. As the nations are on the brink of war, we pray for peace. May your Spirit preside over your people.
Lord, in your mercy. Hear our prayer.
