Dear readers,

Sport has not always been inclusive - this requires time, resources and genuine will. This year, the Australian Open marked 100 years of women’s participation, showing that change does not happen overnight. The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics have also kicked off, with the IOC and WHO reaffirming their commitment to using sport to build a healthier and more inclusive society. As we bounce back from yet another wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, actors in sport for development are feeling more secure about their financial position. This is good news, but how can we make sure that no one is left behind? This is a focus of our campaign on Reshaping Sport and DevelopmentWe will launch campaign activities soon and there is still time for partners to join. Also highlighted are the launch of the FIRE+ project website, a French article on the call by athletes on vaccine equity, an upcoming talk on gender equality in sport organisations and a call for the JSFD Early Career Scholar Award
