WGC Emergency Response Network Request - $1,000 - Can You Help?
The Women’s Giving Circle of Howard County is requesting help in raising $1,000 to support two women clients at Grassroots through our Emergency Response Network (ERN).
These two women are currently residing in the Cold Weather Shelter (CWS) program, and they both need help with car repairs.
One client had been sleeping in her car for three years until she entered the shelter. Last year, she secured a job at a local grocery store working overnight stock shift. At first it was a part time position but she recently advocated for a raise and more hours to become full time. Even then, she is making $15/hour. The funds for her car repair will keep it running so she can continue to work and pay down her debts while she is looking for permanent housing.
The second client is a single mom of a teenage child who is autistic. They had been living in their car for a few months before entering the shelter. She needs her car repaired so that she can begin a job she has lined up delivering packages. She has already located an apartment that she feels she can afford once she gets this job.
On behalf of our partners at Grassroots we are looking to raise $1,000 to support two women in need.
Can you help? Any amount is valued and appreciated.
Thank you!
