Conference Keynotes and main sessions
Day 1
Day 1 of the conference will look at inequalities and the role of social prescribing from many angles. We look forward to hearing from Darren Dooler on his experience of using social prescribing before Sir Michael Marmot explores the national and international situation on health inequalities, the link to health and the role of social prescribing in addressing these. We will also hear from Dr John McGuiness and Dr Anat Jani on data from the millions of referrals collected by the RCGP and Oxford University observatory - this is the first time big data about referrals to social prescribing schemes across England is being presented.
We will hear from social prescribing schemes on the ground - Maternity Action, Citizen Advice Wirral, Responsible Credit and Impact AgeWell - who are innovatively addressing social determinants of health with social prescribing. We will finish the day 1 main session with Ian Dodge, Dave Sweeney, Darin Halifax and Merron Simpson sharing ideas, visions and practical examples of how the Integrated Care Systems can be used for developing social prescribing and improving relationships with the local community, before heading into an exciting range of break out sessions. We hope you will be left with no doubt as to how social prescribing is supporting a growing proportion of the population experiencing inequalities.
We finish Day 1 with a celebration of social prescribing with our 3rd Social Prescribing Network Awards
Day 2
On day 2 Dr Lee Kheng Hock from SingHealth Community Hospital in Singapore will explain how social prescribing continues to develop in their hospital setting. We will hear how different models of social prescribing are rapidly developing around the world from the Global Alliance. Link workers are at the heart of social prescribing and we look forward to hearing from Christiana Melam, Nic Gitsham, Krysia Groves and Hannah Burn about their priorities for continuing to develop the link worker role, the competency frameworks that are taking shape and how a new apprenticeship scheme will work.
There should be plenty of information, learning and knowledge shared to help you develop your social prescribing schemes and workforces.
We will have a series of breakout sessions and end the conference with an interactive session listening to all of you to understand what you see are priorities for social prescribing.

Social Prescribing Day
The 3rd Social Prescribing Day on March 10th, 2022, is an event aiming to foster an attitudinal change, to shift the power to the people and local communities, to forge cross-sectoral collaboration, to promote co-design and co-creation, and to ensure social prescribing continues to grow as a grassroots movement.
Previous Social Prescribing Days have seen so much activity that this time around we will be celebrating social prescribing over a whole week, starting on the 4th March. You can download customisable banners and logos to use on materials, social media and email signatures to spread the word here. You can also find information on the focus for the different days on Social Prescribing Week and some templates for social media use.
So download the logo that we are displaying and personalise it for your scheme, then shout about the great work you are involved with. Use #SocialPrescribingDay for any social media so we can track the impact and reach. If you are doing something special, let us know at @Socialprescrib2.
