Dear friends,
Lately, I've had the privilege of hiring a few people to fill in some very big gaps at Refuge. My gaps. I'm not trying to be humble here, just admitting that there a facets to my role that, as Refuge has grown, have outgrown me. One of those roles is development, i.e. fundraising. It's high time we had a leader in place who is mission-minded, team-oriented, wise, compassionate, and who loves raising money for a good cause! We started looking in November, and now Fatima Salaam is here.
I don't get to lead the hiring search for everyone we bring on board these days, but I did with Fatima. I love hiring people who are smarter than me, better than me, and who I want to be like. She's all that.

Announcement:
