BOARDING NEWSLETTER
Kia Ora Whānau and welcome back to our second Boarding Newsletter of the year. We hope you enjoyed the long weekend, it certainly feels like the end of summer is approaching.
Message from Dai Williams:

Good afternoon to all of our boarding families. We wanted to give you an update on a change to use of the School gym. From Sunday, boarders will have access to use the school gym (not weights room yet though). Boarding has a booking to use the gym Sundays - Thursdays 6.30 - 9pm.

In order to comply with the necessary rules & restrictions around safe usage we will be adhering to the following:- Juniors & senior boys will have separate gym times. Juniors 6.30 - 7.30pm and seniors 7.45 - 9pm. Boys will have to sign in using the Covid tracer app. Boys will also have to present a valid My vaccine pass.

We know many of the boys will be pleased to have use of the gym at nights. We are currently also working hard behind the scenes to find a working solution around use of the weights room, and will advise when we have more news.

I have been impressed this week with the high levels of cooperation and positivity shown by our boys as they adapt to a raft of changes. In the next couple of weeks we will look to step up activities after school, with trips planned to Jellie Park with all of the Junior boys next Thursday and the ever popular inter tribe boarders swim sports and a tribe meal coming up in week 4.

We also have boarding staff, with specialised skills and industry experience, starting up high intensity training classes to get boys in top shape during pre season, ready for their winter sports codes to start in term 2.

Message from Fiona in the laundry:

Please remember to name all items of your son's clothing, we have a lot of unnamed clothes coming through and would hate for some to get lost and take a few weeks to get back to the right owner.
