Dear Berklee families,

As you may have heard, as of February 15, 2022, all eligible members of our on-campus community will need to have obtained a vaccine booster shot for COVID-19. As the deadline approaches, we would like to share more information about the requirement and encourage you to check in with your student to ensure that they have a plan to get the booster shot (if they have not already done so).

If your student is not eligible to get the booster before February 15, they should get it as soon as they become eligible. Students can get the booster for free at the Tufts vaccination clinic or the Fenway Park clinic. All students may check Magnus, our immunization tracking system, to confirm their date of eligibility and submit their records.

Failure to submit booster documentation will result in the matter being forwarded to the Office of Community Standards and Conflict Resolution for disciplinary review.

In keeping with our protocol throughout the pandemic, medical or religious exemptions from the COVID-19 vaccination will be reviewed.

Eligibility

All individuals who received a Pfizer or Moderna vaccination are eligible six months from the date of their second shot; those who received the single dose of Johnson and Johnson are eligible two months from the date of their initial vaccination. We have added an additional month to give students time to get their booster and upload their record.

Special Considerations for International Students

If your student was vaccinated outside the U.S. with a different vaccine (not Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson and Johnson), please refer to the CDC’s website for guidance, or encourage your student to contact their primary care provider for guidance. Students can also schedule a telehealth appointment with Tufts Medical Center to discuss their options.

Sincerely,

New Student and Family Programs
