Conservatives call on Miguel Cardona to resign his position as United States Secretary of Education

On January 11th, evidence emerged that Secretary Cardona had conspired with the National School Boards Association (NSBA) to malign parents across the country who have been demanding accountability from their local school board members. According to emails obtained via FOIA request, the NSBA’s letter to the Biden administration last September which compared the actions of concerned parents to “domestic terrorism” was sent at the request of Cardona.

Secretary Cardona’s involvement in the conception of this letter is especially alarming considering that it was subsequently used by the Department of Justice to legitimize a new initiative cracking down on vaguely defined “threats” to school boards — and threatening the First Amendment rights of parents to speak freely and petition their government. If the NSBA’s letter was indeed crafted at Cardona’s request, this would mean that the DOJ’s action was based on a “crisis” that the Biden administration itself created.

Parents are not “domestic terrorists.” They have numerous serious reasons to be upset at the way public school officials have acted in recent months, including their unnecessary and harmful closure of schools, implementation of onerous and needless COVID-19 restrictions like student mask mandates, and injection of left-wing propaganda like critical race theory and gender ideology into the classroom. The Biden administration’s vilification of these parents is contemptible.

Given his apparent role in this effort to infringe on the rights of concerned parents, it is clear that Secretary Cardona can no longer credibly lead the U.S. Department of Education nor play a significant role in implementing federal education policy.

Sign the petition to call on him to resign immediately!

I Am Running for Re-Election!

Friend,

I am happy to announce that I have filed for re-election as your State Representative for House District 128.

After I stood up for election integrity during the 87th Texas Legislature, the Democrats have decided to target me during the 2022 Election Cycle.

We accomplished a lot of conservative victories during the 87th Texas Legislature and following three Special Sessions, but there is still work to do.

Can I count on you to chip in to help me defeat the Democrats in 2022?

Pro-Life Groups Endorse My Re-Election Campaign

Both the Texas Alliance for Life and Texas Right to Life have endorsed my re-election campaign!

I’m an unapologetic supporter of the Right to Life movement with a record to prove it. We must respect and protect life from conception to natural death. As a pro-life advocate with a record of defending the unborn I will lead the fight to fully end the abortion industry in Texas. That means the total defunding of Planned Parenthood and its affiliates. As your State Representative, I have consistently supported pro-life legislation – including authoring the original Texas Heartbeat Bill; legislation that prohibits abortion after a heartbeat is detected.

Being Sued for Being Pro-Life!

Recently, the Christian Post reported on me being sued for being pro-life in an article titled, "Texas Lawmaker's Sacrifice for Life Saving Bill."

From the Article: As an author of one of the most controversial abortion bills to date, the Texas Heartbeat Bill, Cain now faces over 10 different lawsuits for his involvement with the bill, and he has no regrets. His story is a powerful reminder of the determination of the pro-life movement and the potential in all of our students to push back and beat abortion.

This is just another attack from liberals.

Can you help me fight back by chipping in?

Texas Will Have a Constitutional Amendment Election in May

On May 7, 2022, Texas will conduct another Constitutional Election. In order to appear on the ballot, the proposed amendments must be approved by at least two-thirds of the members of both the Texas Senate and the Texas House of Representatives.

Proposition 1 (SJR 2 – 87th Legislature, 2nd Special Session)
“The constitutional amendment authorizing the legislature to provide for the reduction of the amount of a limitation on the total amount of ad valorem taxes that may be imposed for general elementary and secondary public school purposes on the residence homestead of a person who is elderly or disabled to reflect any statutory reduction from the preceding tax year in the maximum compressed rate of the maintenance and operations taxes imposed for those purposes on the homestead.”

Proposition 2 (SJR 2 – 87th Legislature, 3rd Special Session)
“The constitutional amendment increasing the amount of the residence homestead exemption from ad valorem taxation for public school purposes from $25,000 to $40,000.”

The explanatory statements for each proposed amendment are below:

Proposition Number 1
SJR 2 (87th Legislature, 2nd Special Session) proposes a constitutional amendment authorizing the legislature to provide for the reduction of the amount of a limitation on the total amount of property taxes that may be imposed for general elementary and secondary public school purposes on the residence homestead of a person who is elderly or disabled in order to reflect any statutory reduction in the maximum compressed rate of the maintenance and operations taxes imposed for those purposes on the person’s homestead from the preceding tax year.

Proposition Number 2
