MISSIONAL LIVING
Journey with us weekly through prompted prayers, spiritual practices, and acts of care for the people around us. In Epiphany we focus on our neighbor — pray for their flourishing, practice memorizing 1 Corinthians 1:2, and reach out to those around you with thoughtful acts of care. Send a video of you and your crew memorizing the weekly verse for a spotlight on First Pres’ social media.
Join Director of Mission, Alexa Rossi, as she introduces our two newest hires! Meet Torres Kearney, Coordinator for Discipleship and Mission, and Kelly Bronson, Coordinator for Equipping and Missional Alignment. Learn about the work they do to further the mission of First Pres, how they originally got involved, and some of their favorite parts about working within our community!
Mark your calendar for this very special guest lecture with beloved, former First Pres-er and renowned author, Robert Wolgemuth, on Sunday, 02.27, at 10:15am in Lee Fellowship Hall. Basics & Foundations, Biblical Narrative, Couples of the Bible, and Pastors Classes will all gather together for this combined Formation Class around the topic of marriage. All are welcome!
WEDNESDAY WORKSHOP — 02.23
The Bible is one, unified story that points us to Jesus, yet many of us have never been taught to read it this way. Our Biblical Narrative Workshop will equip you to read "along the grain" of Scripture and make sense of the storyline through Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration – ultimately seeing Jesus as the hero of every story. Join Rev. Tanner Fox and Women’s Ministry Director, Shannon Basso, for this interactive experience on Wednesday, 02.23, from 6:30-8:30pm in Lee Fellowship Hall.
If you’re new, this class is for you! Even if you’re not new, but want to know more about First Pres, or are becoming a Covenant Partner – plan to attend this seminar on the second Sunday of every month. This weekend, Rev. Tanner Fox discusses our Core Values for a blessed time of formation and fellowship.
Our campus comes alive on Sundays, and we need First Pres Men to rise as our Welcome Team – welcoming all, offering information and directions, and even escorting visitors to their desired locations. With matching FPCO sport shirts and a heart to greet and guide our Sunday guests, these men are beacons for our visitors and a vital ministry in our Sunday morning experience. Contact Dave McKnight or Mike Phillips with questions.
As we move toward a new church plant in 2023, we’ll host an information session on Sunday, 03.06, in King Parlor at 10:15am. If you live in the Windermere, Winter Garden, Clermont, or Dr. Phillips areas, and are interested in the potential of being part of our new plant, don’t miss this meeting! No commitments. Come hear the vision, ask questions, and see where God might be leading you.
HOSPITALITY TEAM — 02.20
Can you brew coffee, plate and refresh delicious treats, setup or cleanup? Whatever your interest, the Hospitality Team has a spot for you! We need your helping hands to make Formation/Fellowship Hour possible each Sunday. Join Lori Needham and Lisa Booth for a kitchen tour and coffee brewing orientation on Sunday, 02.20, at 8:30am.
