COMMUNITY OUTREACH
March 13 is Russ Andersen‘s 98th birthday. Why not send him a birthday wish either by snail mail or bring a card to the church and put it in the basket provided. Should you wish to send it directly, please call the church office for his most recent address. He loves getting cards in the mail!
THANK YOU, BRAYDEN!

Brayden's class at school usually participates in a classwide service project. The assignment in January was for each student to conduct their own service project, then report back to the class. Brayden chose to collect food for Iglesia Santa Cruz. He created flyers, posted them in his neighborhood, and spoke to his neighbors to ask for donations. The photos above show Brayden with his flyer, the items he collected, and some of the people who will receive his donations.

Thank you, Brayden, for your hard work. Many families at Igelesia Santa Cruz will be blessed by the food and other items you collected on their behalf.
Suggested donation schedule:

1st Sundays - Rice & Beans
2nd Sundays - Masa & Oil
3rd Sundays - Sugar & Salt
4th Sundays - Laundry/Dish Soap & Pesonal hygeine items (men & women)
5th Sundays - Socks and Undies (All ages/genders)

Gift cards are easy to purchase and easy to transport. All gift cards are presented to Pastor Esteban Salazar at Iglesia Santa Cruz. Pastor Salazar distributes the cards to different families each month, as needed.

Thrivent grants are always a blessing. Your Thrivent dollars are generally used to purchase items from the list above. Please contact Steve Bennett if you would like more information about Thrivent grants.

Matching Gifts Challenge Benefitting the SLO County Food Bank

The new donation site is up and running. Please click the link below for more information.

Link to Mt. Carmel matching funds page

If you prefer to donate to the matching funds challenge by check, make your check out to the SLO County Food Bank. Write Mt. Carmel Matching Funds Drive on the memo line so that your donation will be properly credited.  Mail to:

Food Bank Coalition of SLO County
1180 Kendall Road
San Luis Obispo, CA 93401

Please do not route your food bank donations through Mount Carmel.  Doing so will delay your donation and make tracking the matching funds challenge donations difficult for the food bank.

Thank you to Mount Carmel for your always generous spirit!

We'd love to hear from you. Please call or email with your questions or comments.
