Celebrating Our Spectacular Spellers!

These eighth graders spelled their way to the top in the final EMS bee on February 8. With the winning word, "liquefy," Annie secured her chance to represent EMS at the Regional Spelling Bee of King and Snohomish Counties in March. Good luck, Annie!

We hope your student joins the National Spelling Bee program with Evergreen PTSA next year.

Volunteers Needed: Staff Appreciation Lunch 2/24

Free Screening of 'Far From the Tree' Documentary

WSPTA Enrichment Opportunities

The Washington State PTA (WSPTA) is offering these free student programs:

  • WSPTA Essay Contest (grades K–12) — Students are invited to write about a real-life role model who has had a profound impact on their lives. [details here]
  • WSPTA Game Development Contest (grades 6–12) — Individuals or teams of students are invited to develop either a computer game or a board game. This year's theme is Changing the World. [details here]

Submit entries soon! The deadline for both contests is Tuesday, March 1.

February Is Black History Month
