Dear supporters and friends of MMA,

First of all, thank you for your support and prayers for us this past year! We’re so grateful for the ways in which your love and care have sustained us and brought us into new places during the pandemic.

Secondly, we have some exciting announcements which we’d like to share with you.

From Louie and Barb Rosado

As COVID-19 brought Medical Mission Adventures’ clinics and the rest of the world to a halt, Louie and I talked about the future of MMA. We wanted to slow down, but we wanted MMA to continue.

In 2020, after traveling to Florida to care for Louie’s step-father for four months, two grand-daughters joined us in Florida and traveled with us to Michigan where we spent time with our daughter and their aunt. Louie and I continued our road travel across the top of the United States to the State Parks in the South Dakota area. After seeing the vast, beautiful countryside of the United States, Louie agreed it would be a good move to live closer to our daughter and also be five hours from my elderly mother, my siblings and relatives in Ontario, Canada. I could also return to the lush green environment of the Mid-West which I grew up in and missed for forty years while living in L.A.!

From the bottom of our hearts, we are so grateful for the many ways in which you have loved us, carried us, given us your time, labor, finances and shared tears with us in the many Medical Mission Adventures we have done together. Our hearts are warm and full when we think of how God has ministered to thousands of people in multiple continents through our work together.

We will frequent California to visit our son and friends, including our MMA volunteer friends! Which leads to the future of MMA and the introduction of the new Medical Mission Adventures President, Dr. Evelyn Lo, MD!

Dr. Evelyn Lo, an emergency medicine doctor, approached us at the beginning of 2021, sharing her vision of making COVID-19 vaccinations available through clinics, and asked to use the covering of Medical Mission Adventure’s license and insurance for COVID-19 vaccination clinics.

Louie and I asked if Dr. Evelyn Lo and her husband, John, senior Pastor of Epicentre Church in Pasadena, would become the president of Medical Mission Adventures, taking on the task of running MMA. With Louie on the Advisory Board, we’d like to stay involved with MMA as volunteers. I will have Evelyn give an introduction of herself and her vision for Medical Mission Adventures!

From John and Evelyn Lo

When we follow Jesus over our the course of lives, we never know what He has in store for us. For many years, a couple things have remained constant in my and John’s hearts: evangelism and church planting, serving the poor and under resourced, disaster relief and using who we are to see Jesus made known locally and globally. As senior pastors of Epicentre Church in Pasadena, which is part of the Antioch Movement of Churches, we helped pioneer a new nonprofit along with other churches, Acts of Mercy Southern California. Our vision is to train and equip healthcare workers and lay leaders to serve the underserved both globally (through Acts of Mercy) and here locally (through MMA) by offering healthcare to those underserved and under-resourced. We thank God and the Rosado’s for allowing MMA to come under the umbrella of Acts of Mercy Southern California (AOM SoCal).

Thank you once again for your love and support for Louie, Barb and MMA over these years. We are honored to carry on the legacy of the tangible love of God which MMA has shown to the under-resourced here and abroad. Through Epicentre and the Southern California regional office of Acts of Mercy (this is the disaster and global relief arm of our church association), we hope to build on what the Rosado's and you have done together.

There’s some exciting news we’d like to share with you as MMA steps into 2022.

(1) Our new base of operations has moved to Pasadena, CA! Please redirect all mail correspondence and financial giving to :

MMA
425 Sierra Madre Villa Avenue
Pasadena, CA 91107
Phone: 951-595-7032

(2) A full-fledged Mobile Medical Unit with a full medical exam and dental procedure room has been donated to Acts of Mercy this past year. God has provided this vehicle to us as we grow this mobile clinic locally and in California.

Internationally

We have been partnering with Mission Flight to do medical and dental clinics in Mexico to those who have little to no access to medical and dental care. Their mission is in alignment with MMA in that Mission Flight organizes and leads trips to serve communities that invite us to come to serve alongside them where there is significant need. These communities are either remote or very difficult to access by ground. Please check Mission Flight webpage for upcoming trips if interested.

Locally

We would like to continue MMA’s vision to partner with local churches and their communities to establish free medical, dental and optical clinics in 2022. In 2021, we hosted 13 vaccine clinics throughout LA County, vaccinating over 3000 patients. We had over a hundred volunteers assisting and helping to keep Angelenos safe. We look forward to seeing how we can continue to partner with faith based organizations, community centers and cities to provide medical, dental and optical care for those who are under resourced, underserved, lost and in need a health care. If you are interested in volunteering and being a part of engaging the health needs of those locally and or internationally, please email us at info@aomsocal.org. If you would like to partner with us financially, you can give at our website.

We appreciate your continued giving and prayers for MMA as we go forward together,
John and Evelyn Lo
