Dear Library Customer, 

With COVID-19 cases decreasing in the Bay Area, the Palo Alto City Library will return to pre-Omicron hours and services starting Wednesday, February 16:  

Children's Library (reopens February 16):   
  • Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Saturdays: 1–5 PM  
College Terrace Library (reopens February 17):  
  • Thursdays & Fridays: 1–5 PM  
Downtown Library (reopens February 17):  
  • Thursdays & Fridays: 1–5 PM  
Mitchell Park Library:   
  • Tuesday–Thursday: 11 AM–8 PM  
  • Fridays & Saturdays: 12–6 PM
Rinconada Library (starting February 16):   
  • Wednesdays, Fridays & Saturdays: 10 AM–6 PM 
  • Thursdays: 12–8 PM  
Changes made for the closures, social distancing and limited stays will be made available again on February 16:  
  • More seating at Mitchell Park and Rinconada Libraries  
  • All study rooms will reopen 
  • All public PCs will be turned on. Public WiFi, copy machines, wireless printing and scanning services are still available. 
  • Holds can be placed to be picked up at Children’s, College Terrace and Downtown Libraries starting Monday, February 14

California’s extended mask mandate will expire on February 15, however the County of Santa Clara Public Health Department announced that it will not lift local indoor masking requirements. Therefore, masks are still required for all visitors 3 years and up regardless of vaccination status. Please make sure your mask covers your nose and mouth before entering the Library. Masks are available at the front desk, if needed.

The Library will continue to monitor service levels in light of the pandemic and current and potential staffing limitations. As service changes are made, updates will be posted to the Current Library Services web page.
